All marine reptiles must occasionally surface in order to breathe. [[Aquatic Creatures|Aquatic creatures]] in our game are no exception, and must occasionally breathe in order to survive. They hold no purpose for [[Thirst|drinking water]] given their lives are indeed lived in water. This left a hole in the mechanics that water and thirst provided towards other creatures. Air fills the gap on the [[User Interface|UI]] for aquatic creatures, occupying the blue sphere. It grants many of the same benefits or drawbacks a well-hydrated or dehydrated [[Terrestrial Creatures|terrestrial creature]] would receive. These benefits and drawbacks are shown below:

*Having high oxygen will improve the rate at which a creature recovers lost [[Health|HP]]. A state of running out of breath will cause a creature's HP to decay over time rather than heal.
*Keeping oxygen high will increase the rate at which a player's [[Stamina|stamina]] recharges by 15%, whereas being at or near a state of dehydration will cause a player's stamina to recharge 15% slower.
*Keeping oxygen high increases the rate at which a player's [[Ability|ability power]] recharges by 15%, whereas being at or near a state of dehydration will cause a player's ability power to recharge 15% slower.

Without any other action, an aquatic creature can last a significant amount of time under the water without taking a breath. The rate at which they exhaust their air supply is very small while stationary, lasting an hour before they begin to die due to lack of oxygen. Actively [[Sprinting|sprinting]] consumes oxygen, but only a small amount. A player can sprint for a long time without worrying about air, only surfacing occasionally. Using [[Primary Attack|your bite attack]] consumes moderate oxygen. Use of any ability that consumes significant [[Ability|ability power]] such as [[Grabbing|grabbing]] will consume lots of oxygen. Combat consumes significant oxygen, likely causing creatures to need a breath in the midst. The [[Elasmosaurus]] does not consume additional oxygen to use its bite, but the [[Mosasaurus]] does.

In order to refill on air, one must surface and then press the use [[keybind]] in order to take a breath. Taking a breath immediately grants 15 air, and then continuously grants 15 more air each second until the player dips below the surface.

[[Fish]] grant a slight amount of air, mostly to offset the air used during the [[Elasmosaurus]]' [[Primary Attack|bite]] attack used to catch the fish such that it remains a neutral activity.

[[File:Ability.png|right|thumb|400px|border|Ability [[User Interface|UI]]]]

Ability Power, Ability, or, as some players have come to call it, Bite Juice, is a combat-based, short-term resource used to execute most attacks or special typed abilities in Beasts of Bermuda. Most creatures have 100 ability power, though the [[Utahraptor]] has 150 Ability Power.

== Consuming Ability Power ==

Most [[Primary Attack|primary attacks]] and [[Secondary Attack|secondary attacks]] consume ability power when used. Primary attacks are often more direct and obvious in how they consume Ability Power, whereas secondary attacks may be more complicated and convoluted.

*Many creatures have a standard bite, stomp, or other form of attack used for inflicting physical harm to a potential predator, prey, or competitor. These consume ability power upon use. In some encounters, most notably dueling [[Mosasaurus]], careful use of [[Primary Attack|bite]] will often determine the victor. When a player has insufficient Ability Power, they will be unable to use these attacks.

*[[Grabbing|Grabs]] will consume Ability Power, both instantly upon use and over time while the grab persists. [[Size|Larger creatures]] often consume the grabbing creature's Ability Power more quickly than smaller ones. When Ability Power is exhausted, the grabbing creature will let go of its prey. Thrashing prey consumes no additional Ability Power.

*[[Pouncing|Latched]] creatures will consume Ability Power at a constant rate while the latch persists. Unlike grabbing, latching always consumes the same amount of Ability Power regardless of the host's [[Size|size]]. A latched creature can increase the rate at which they drain their Ability Power by [[Primary Attack|biting]] their host, as the bite incurs the same Ability Power cost as it regularly would. When Ability Power is exhausted, a latched creature will detach from its host.

*Some creatures such as the [[Parasaurolophus]] have more unique abilities that consume Ability Power, such as its [[Alarm Calls|alarm call]]. Its [[Secondary Attack|secondary attack]] is activated when the right mouse button is released, consuming Ability Power.

== Recharging Ability Power ==

Ability Power recharges at a rate of 2 points per second under regular circumstances, though there are many ways players can alter the regenerative rate of this resource.

*[[Comfort]] plays a moderate role in influencing the rate at which a player regenerates Ability Power, increasing or decreasing its regenerative rate by up to + or - 33%.
*[[Resting|Sitting or sleeping]] allows a player to moderately increase the rate at which they regenerate Ability Power, improving regeneration rate by 20% and 44%, respectively.
*[[Thirst|Thirst]] influences the regeneration rate of Ability Power. Fully hydrated players will see their Ability Power regenerate 15% faster, whereas dehydrated players will see a 15% slower regeneration rate.
*[[Food|Hunger]] influences the regeneration rate of Ability Power. Fully fed players will see their Ability Power regenerate 15% faster, whereas dehydrated players will see a 15% slower regeneration rate.

Injury damage is a type of damage value that will [[Movement System|slow the player's movement]]. The higher the injury value, the slower the player will move.

A low number of injury will only create a minimal amount of slowness, slightly affecting movement. A value of 45 injury will send the player's creature into a limping animation (Note: Some creatures don't have a limping animation) and disable their ability to run. At 100 injury, any kind of movement becomes nearly impossible.

A player's injury can be inspected by opening the character stat HUD.

Creatures heal from injury damage overtime automatically, though the healing process can be sped up by resting and obtaining high levels of [[Comfort|comfort]].

'''Note: Injury damage is not the same as health damage, though the two are linked'''

_________________________________________________________

== Sources of Injury Damage ==

- Falling (higher falls inflict more injury)

- Being struck by another creature (larger creatures inflict more injury than smaller ones)

- Struggling out of the jaws of the [[Mosasaurus]]

== Gameplay mechanics ==

Injury damage was created as a means to allow certain creatures to have an additional, unique advantages and abilities while either hunting or defending themselves. While all creatures are capable of dealing some level of injury damage to others, certain ones rely on it heavily as a defensive or offensive mechanism. Often times, slower creatures are capable of utilizing injury damage to either slow down their attacker via infliction of injury to allow escape, or to slow down prey that would otherwise escape them due to speed differentials. It is also a mechanism designed for unique ways to allow [[Fall Damage|fall damage]] to become a relevant danger that could allow fleeing prey to potentially fall victim to a predator's pursuit, or for fleeing prey to potentially trick a swifter predator into hurting themselves, thus allowing escape.

A creature who receives a blow that inflicts 3% or more injury damage will play a bone breaking sound effect to indicate as such.

As a creature accumulates injury damage, their limp will become heavier. A creature with mild injury damage will have a slight limp to their gait, often barely noticeable. As injury accumulates, however, the limp will become heavier. A moderately injured creature will step heavily onto its leg with each locomotion cycle. As injury worsens, the limp becomes worse and worse, until the creature is heavily crippled in gait at very high levels of injury. This is intended as a means by which potential predators can spot injured prey and chase it down, knowing it will be slower, and likely will not be as full on [[Health|HP]] as a healthier creature with no deformation in their gait.

Injury currently has no representation on the [[User Interface|user interface]]. One can only view how much injury they have sustained directly by opening the [[Skin Customization|skin customization UI]]. It will be displayed numerically on the left along with other numerical values for [[Player Stats|stats]]. Opening this UI is by default [[Keybinding|keybound]] to O, though it can be changed if the player wishes.

== Injury Damage from Combat ==

Under most circumstances, a player must be [[Locational Damage|hit in the leg]] in order to receive any injury damage. Injury damage is computed as a constant multiplier multiplied by the square of the inflicting creature's [[Damage|damage]], and then divided by the square root of the victim's [[Size|size]]. This function on infliction of injury damage was crafted for a couple reasons. Most notably, smaller creatures such as the [[Velociraptor]] and [[Utahraptor]] are almost completely inept at dealing injury damage to their opponents. Other creatures such as the [[Megalosaurus]] and Carnotaurus, other light hitting creatures, are also almost completely inept at dealing injury damage as well. The square relationship in injury damage ensures that creatures who rely on many, low damage bites will be very ineffective at inflicting injury damage. Larger creatures are also less effected by injury altogether, allowing harder hits be required in order to slow larger beasts down.

Some creatures, ones with the [[Bruisers|Bruiser]] trait, are capable of inflicting more injury damage and are capable of inflicting injury damage under more lenient scenarios. Most notably, the [[Pachycephalosaurus]] is profoundly adept at dealing injury damage as it possesses this trait. It is granted a bonus that multiplies any amount of injury it would otherwise cause by a factor of 10. On top of this, the Pachycephalosaurus is capable of dealing injury to its foes without needing to [[Locational Damage|strike the legs]]. Tail hits, however, will never inflict injury damage to the owner, regardless of whether the inflicting player is a bruiser.

== Healing Injury Damage ==

One intent of injury damage is such that it is difficult to heal while being chased, while chasing, or while defending yourself from potential predators. The other intent, however, is that it must not be too overtly onerous to heal while in a place of relative safety. For this reason, the rate at which a creature recovers from injury damage varies significantly depending on what the creature is doing. [[Resting]] is the fastest way to clear injury damage, clearing all but the most severe of injuries in a couple minutes. Sitting is not as effective at healing injuries as resting, but still grants a significant increase to recovery rate. Standing is a fairly poor way to heal injury damage, but it is better than walking it off. Injuries heal very, very little while sprinting.

Other factors beyond [[Movement System|mode of movement]] influence rate of healing for injury damage.
*[[Comfort]] influences rate of healing for injury damage. High comfort will improve the rate at which a creature heals from injuries, whereas lower comfort will hinder a creature's recovery rate.
*[[Thirst|Hydration]] influences rate of healing for injury damage. Being well hydrated will improve the rate at which a creature heals from injuries, whereas being at or near dehydration will hinder a creature's recovery rate.
*[[Food|Being well fed]] will improve the healing rate for injury damage. Being at or near starvation will hinder a creature's ability to swiftly recover from injuries.
*[[Weight Gain|Overweight]] creatures will heal more quickly from injuries than their normal weight counterparts.

== Foliage Grade ==

Foliage can come in six different grades, or tiers.

* Grade 0 foliage represents small grasses and very tiny plants. Anything can destroy or consume this foliage, and it often grants very little food.
* Grade 1 foliage represents most small, leafy plants. It is consumable or destroyable by mostly anything.
* Grade 2 foliage is often classified as small bushes or somewhat medium-sized, leafy plants.
* Grade 3 foliage represents mid-sized, woody bushes and occasionally very small, young, woody trees. This foliage typically respawns in 30 minutes. It feeds mid-sized herbivores such as [[Parasaurolophus]], [[Saichania]], and large [[Pachycephalosaurus]].
* Grade 4 foliage is often represented by large, woody bushes and smaller trees. Some extremely large, leafy plants are also grade 4 foliage. This type of foliage is quite large, and often feeds the [[Parasaurolophus]] well. Nothing smaller can destroy or consume this foliage. It often has respawn timers anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes. Usually this foliage will collapse into the ground when consumed.
* Grade 5 foliage will be most large, woody trees. These are only edible or destructible by the [[Apatosaurus]]; or, under unusual conditions, very large members of other species. It typically respawns in 60 minutes. Some large, woody plants will fall when consumed. Others will lose their leaves, leaving behind a woody, leafless tree until respawn.
* Grade 6 foliage is indestructible. Extremely large trees that may lie as the focal points of certain areas may be foliage grade 6.

[[File:Sunsetfoliage.jpg|right|thumb|400px|border|]]

A creature's [[Size|size]] often correlates with what kind of foliage it is capable of both consuming and trampling.

The only exceptions to the foliage grade system are hatchlings, which can eat any foliage picked up in a bundle and dropped by a parent. This is to prevent starvation in incredibly young offspring.

== "Exclusive" Foliage ==
Some types of foliage are exclusive to certain creatures. Currently, the only type of foliage exclusive to one creature is the [[Lurdusaurus]]. The semiaquatic [[Lurdusaurus]] can only eat kelp found in large bodies of water, such as the [[Ocean|ocean]] or [[Freshwater Lakes|lakes.]] Without proper mitigation against it, the [[Lurdusaurus]] will gain a large amount of food poisoning from eating terrestrial plants. Kelp is mostly inaccessible to terrestrial [[Herbivorous Creatures|herbivores]] due to the depth underwater which it is found at.

====Forest fires====
Forest fires are started from [[Weather|lightning]]. When a fire is spawned, it will propagate across the terrain, spreading to nearby [[Foliage System|trees, shrubs, and bushes]]. The fire will continue burning until it has ceased to find suitable vegetation to propagate to. The larger the fire, the further its reach, so large flames can jump from tree to tree, whereas a small fire may only be able to ignite other plants immediately beside it.

Forest fires contain the power to potentially wipe out entire sections of the map from being habitable for [[Herbivorous Creatures|herbivores]], sometimes requiring migration to other parts of the map to find green vegetation.

Close proximity to forest fires will sharply reduce [[Comfort|comfort]]. Standing in a forest fire will kill you.

Rain makes it more difficult for forest fires to spread. Due to this, fires are most likely to propagate aggressively during [[Weather|dry lightning]].

Fires are currently disabled but may be readded in the future.

====Floodings====
Flooding occurs during [[Weather|storms]] and occurs due to rain causing the [[Tidal System|tides]] to rise dramatically. This allows [[Aquatic Creatures]] to have more room to roam. [[Terrestrial Creatures]] must seek [[Shelter|shelter]] or they will risk [[Drowning|drowning]].
==Information==
The Acrocanthosaurus is a large, playable [[Carnivorous Creatures|carnivore]] in Beasts of Bermuda. It is one of the slowest carnivores in the game, only being faster than the [[Semiaquatic Creatures|semiaquatic]] [[Ichthyovenator]]'s terrestrial movement speed. However, it has the highest damage output and the strongest bite of any carnivore currently in-game. It also has the highest [[Health|health]] and [[Size|size]]. The Acrocanthosaurus is a superb ambusher due to its high damage output. It is the carnivore most capable of hunting the huge [[Apatosaurus]] and the swift [[Parasaurolophus]].

Its attacks are fairly straightforward, possessing both a forwards-aimed and a downwards-aimed bite as its [[Primary Attack|primary]] and [[Secondary Attack|secondary]] attack.

Special Abilities: Acrocanthosaurus is able to inflict terrible [[bleeding]] wounds on its opponents. Bleeding is a status effect that damages health, comfort and raises injury damage. This allows the Acrocanthosaurus to engage in persistence hunting, wearing its prey out over long distances while they succumb to blood loss. A skilled Acrocanthosaurus can fell even the largest of creatures, so long as they are not allowed to recuperate. It has also an [[Alarm Calls]] like the [[Parasaurolophus]] which allows the target to lose certain amount of stamina and reduce damage output by certain amount.

Other facts: The Acrocanthosaurus will be the second strongest carnivore in the EA release, after the Tyrannosaurus. It makes up for the lack of power to Tyrannosaurus with superior speed, meaning it is able to pursue a wider variety of prey over long distances as well as able to stack bleed on prey.

The Acrocanthosaurus is capable of doing a small [[Jumping|jump]] that costs significant [[Stamina|stamina]]. It serves the only purpose of allowing the Acrocanthosaurus to avoid getting stuck on small ledges or rocks in certain areas, granting little other utility.

The Acrocanthosaurus has a very mild amount of [[Weather Resistance|weather resistance]] and must take refuge from intense [[Weather|weather]].

It also has a fast metabolism and must eat regularly to avoid [[Food|starvation]].

There is a super powerful Acrocanthosaurus known as the [[Demon Acro]], which patrols the temple on the [[Maps|map]]. It is extremely powerful and guards the secrets of the temple. Tread wisely. Has been removed

==Tips==
- Speed or Damage tree are viable

- Pack of acro's can kill big dinosaurs like rex or apato

==Pro's and Con's==
'''Pros:'''

+ Group of acros can use ability to de-buff rex and drain the rex's stamina complete and reduce the rex's damage by 33%. allowing the acros to kill the Rex.

+ Really strong in numbers

'''Cons:'''

- Weak as solo

- Skill dependent. If you chose damage tree you are significantly slower. If you chose speed tree you are fast but low damage output and special ability costs a lot of resource

==Trivia==
==Gallery==
[[File:Serverwindow.png|right|thumb|500px|border|Dedicated Server Console]]

;Beasts of Bermuda supports dedicated servers. In order to start a server, one has two solutions:
:- Grab the executable file BeastsOfBermudaServer.exe located in ''[GameRoot]\BeastsOfBermuda\Binaries\[OSType]''.
:- Download our dedicated server tool via SteamCMD or the Steam client software. This section will be detailed [[#Setting up dedicated Server using SteamCMD or Steam Client Dedicated Server tool|here]]

Starting this executable, will, by default, open up Test_Performance, and allow 32 connections.
The user can however, pass custom arguments into the dedicated server using '''command line arguments'''.

= Setting custom game parameters into the executable =

Game Arguments must follow this syntax: ''-key'' '''value'''.
Server Arguments must follow this one: ''?key='''''value'''.

;'''A dedicated server can be customized using the following arguments:'''

*-MapName ''Name''
::Valid values are any of the available maps in game. If a map appears to be made of several words, its spacings must be replaced by "_"
*Currently, one can open a server on
**''Test_Performance''
**''Bloodbath''
**''Forest_Island''
**''Ancestral_Plains''
**''Rival_Shores''
**If not specified, defaults to ''Test_Performance''
*-GameMode ''mode''
::Valid values are ''Life_Cycle'', ''Combat'' and ''Free_Roam''. If not specified, will default to ''Life_Cycle'''.
*-SessionName ''Name''
::Consider a rather short name (avoid "My Super Server that really is awesome pls join"). Spacings must be replaced with "_" for the command to be parsed properly.
::Example: -SessionName Vipe's_dedicated_server. For people seeing your server, it will appear as following: Vipe's dedicated server
*-ServerPassword ''Password''
::A password for the game server. No spaces. If not specified, server will have no password.
*-NumPlayers ''Value''
::A limit for server's public connections. Basically for how many slots a server has. If not specified, defaults to 32.

==Customizing Dedicated server listen and Query ports, and Multihome IP adress==
''Do not forget to port-forward for the server to function. By default, steam uses the port 7777, 8888 and 27015. The server can use an other Port, and Query Port, but in every case, 8888 will need to be open.''
''Here comes the more advanced stuff. If you are running multiple servers on your machine, you will need these in order to change the ports used by the server to communicate with the world.''

*?Port='''xxxxx'''
::This is the server's listen port. Its default value is 7777. On your router's ports settings, ensure that the port you are using is open for both TCP and UDP, as the server will use these two.
*?QueryPort='''xxxxx'''
::This is the server's steam Query Port. Its default value is 27015. Just like the server's listen port, ensure that the port you are using is open for TCP and UDP.
*?Multihome='''xxx.xxx.xxx.xx'''
::This is your multihome adress, if you use one.
For all of the above server command line flags, do not use space between each, as the following: '''?Port=xxxxx?QueryPort=xxxxxx'''

=Setting up advanced server settings using the configuration file=

In ''{installFolder}/BeastsOfBermuda/Saved/Config/WindowsServer'' You will find a file named Game.ini. If it does not exist, create it.
'''NOTE: Make sure to not have ANY unnecessary spacings in the config file.'''
===Config sections:===
*If the file is empty, the first thing you want to write is ''[/Script/BeastsOfBermuda.ServerGameInstance]'', then, under this, you can add several parameters that will rule and maintain your server.

'''GameMode''' = ''TheGameMode''
*Choose either Life_Cycle, Combat or Free_Roam. this will be the mode of play on your server.

'''GrowthLimit'''=''100.0f''
*This is a limit for growth on this server.
*Note that any value past 2 is very unlikely to be reached by a player, unless they dedicate their life to it. Growth is inverse exponential, and past 1.2 becomes incredibly slow.

'''bConsoleLocked'''=''true''
*If set to false, anyone can access the console, ''as the server will be in open console mode, treating everyone like default admins. It is NOT recommended to set it to false unless you are doing tests.''.

'''ReservedAdminSlots'''=''2''
*This is a setting to reserve slots for administrators on a server. These slots are filled when an admin joins the game.
*Its default value is 2.

'''ServerAdmins'''=''(UserSteamId64=PlayerId64, AdminRank="DefaultAdmin")''
*This represents an entry for a server admin. In beasts of bermuda, servers support admin ranks, and you can set custom administration ranks for your server.
*Note that this is treated like a list. Add a new ServerAdmins = (...) line for each administrator. (example will be linked below).

'''AdminRanks'''=''(AdminRank="DefaultAdmin", RankLevel = 0)''
*This Represents an administrator rank, with an associated level. The higher the Ranklevel, the higher the administrator. Any administrator with a higher rank than an other will be able to do anything this other admin can do, and more.

'''AdminCommandRules'''=''(CommandType = EAdminCommands::TheAdminCommand, MinimalRank="RankName")''
*This is a rule for administration commands. Each administrator command type is represented by EAdminCommands. One value can give access to several of the commands.
*The MinimalRank is the minimal rank required to use this command.
*:: Valid values for this enumerator are:
::ServerMutePlayer - Server-Mute a player, making them unable to send any invite, and send any message.
::KickPlayer - Kick a player from this server.
::BanPlayer - Ban a player from this server. they will be added in the banlist.
::RespawnPlayer - Respawn a player, or respawn yourself.
::ControlWeather - Set of functions associated with weather control. Time of day, weather, tornadoes, etc. This should be a high rank Rule.
::ClearCarcasses - Function to clear all dead corpses from the server.
::ClearBones - Function to remove every bones from dead players and animals from the server.
::CheckServerData - This function is associated with an upcoming in-game server manager for admins, and will allow accessing the saved data of your server
::ModifyServerData - This function is also associated with the server manager, and allows the administrator to see and modify the data, for administration purposes, or cleanup. This should be a high rank Rule.
::FlushServerData - This function is also associated with the server manager, and allows to flush the entire save of a server, without restarting it. Joining players who had a save on this server will have to restart.
::ForceSaveData - This function forces the server to serialize and save all the data on the server. This should be a high rank Rule.
::RestartMap - This function is '''not yet used''', and may not be used anytime soon, but it will allow restarting the server on an other, or the same map.
::PossessEntity - Allows your administrator to possess an existing entity. (any dinosaur)
::SpawnEntity - Allows your administrator to spawn an entity, be it a dinosaur or an other map element, or weather element. This function was for debugging purposes and should not be used.
::UseObserver - Allows your administrator to possess the spectator cam and move around with it. Unlocks the commands EnterSpectate & LeaveSpectate.
::GrowEntity - Allows your administrator to grant growth to a player, or themselves.
::Teleport - Allows your administrator to teleport a player to an other, teleport to, make someone teleport to themselves, or teleport several players.

'''VeteransSteamIDs'''=''"someSteamId64"''
*This is an entry for a veteran on your server. Use it or not, this was requested by hosts. Veterans are allowed to have access to certain dinosaurs that would otherwise be blocked, and they can bypass Creature limits.
*Use one line per entry.

'''BannedSteamIDs'''=''"SomeSteamId64"''
*This is an entry for a banned player. Banned players are not allowed connection to your server, and will be notified of it uppon attempting to join.
*Use one line per entry.

'''SteamGroupName'''=''"Name"''
*if your server has a group on steam, you can put its name here, and the players will be able to find and join your group via the in-game interface. (not fully implemented yet - 11/28/2018 )

'''bRequiresSteamGroupToJoin''' = ''false''
*Whether or not your server requires to join the steamgroup specified using "SteamGroupName="Name".
*Players that are not part of this group will be denied access to your server.

'''DiscordLink'''=''"GZrhgrC"''
*If you have a community discord. Players will be able to find it via the in-game interface. The link must only contain the key associated with the invite, for security reasons.

'''bDisplayIntroMessage'''= 'false''
*Whether to display a welcome message or not. See [[Message of the day]] for details on how to set up a welcome message.

'''bUseHardGroupLimits''=''false''
*This sets a hard limit to groups. Creatures with a group limit will not be allowed together past the value defined in CreatureLimits.
*If kept to false, the game will instead apply an exponentially growing discomfort to players trying to group up with more than the limit.

'''bDisableGlobalChat'''=''false''
*Whether to disable the global chat on your server. Local and group chat will still be available.

'''+CreatureLimits'''=''(CreatureType=EDinoType::TheDinoType, PercentAllowed=100.0f, GroupLimit=999, bRequiresVeteran=False)''
*Creature limits on your server. Similarly to Admin rules, these are entries, one per line.
*Valid values for EDinoType are:
::Acrocanthosaurus,
::Apatosaurus,
::Elasmosaurus,
::Kronosaurus,
::Ichthyovenator,
::Megalosaurus,
::Mosasaurus,
::Oryctodromeus,
::Pachycephalosaurus,
::Parasaurolophus,
::Pteranodon,
::Tyrannosaurus,
::Utahraptor,
::Velociraptor,

*There will be one for each playable species implemented to the game.
Afterwards you will need to create a new section for your autosave configuration. It needs to be at the end of the file with the header ''[/Script/BeastsOfBermuda.SaveSystem]''

'''AutosaveTime'''=''300.0f''
*A time, in seconds, after which the server will automatically securize its data, writing it on the disk. This timer is clamped to a minimum of 30 seconds and is default at 120 seconds.
'''Finally, here is a sample file that contains an example of a server's configuration:''
[https://drive.google.com/open?id=10Bi1I9s4Ja9H4x3EdANy6mEcvS5j9sDg Download the config sample here.]
This config sample is the defaults, so if you wish to leave certain settings unchanged, simply do not specify them in your config file.

==Setting up dedicated Server using SteamCMD, Steam Client Dedicated Server tool, or a Command Prompt==

===Steam CMD===
To set up a dedicated server using SteamCMD, follow the instructions on Valve's website about their product: [https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD Set up Steam CMD]

Once you have it unzipped and ready to use, open up the command line in SteamCMD's executable folder (shift + right click on Windows) and use the following command:
<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir your/installdir/beastsofbermuda_ds +app_update 882430 +quit
</syntaxhighlight>
===Via Steam client software===
Here is a lot simpler. In your library, next to the "Search"" bar, click on <GAMES> and go to "tools". There, look for "Beasts Of Bermuda Dedicated Server". Download and install, and you are good to go. Sometimes this does not show up in the Tools section, for an unknown reason.

[[File:Steam_tools.png|right|thumb|720px|border|Steam client UI]]

===Via Command Prompt===

Should both methods not work try this as well. [https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steamcmd.zip Download], extract and run Steam CMD, then close it when the updates finish. Right click on the folder name where you extracted the .zip, and select "Copy address" and paste that aside somewhere.

Create a folder on your desktop called "Server" and open it. Right click on the folder name in the bar, and select "Copy address".

Open a command prompt and, pasting the addresses into the blank spots in order, and run this command.

<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
(Address 1 here)\steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir (Address 2 here) +app_update 882430 +quit
</syntaxhighlight>

An example being

<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
C:\Users\user\Desktop\TheFolder\steamcmd.exe +login anonymous +force_install_dir C:\Users\user\Desktop\Server +app_update 882430 +quit
</syntaxhighlight>

Once the file finishes running you may close it and find your folder named "Server" which should now contain the files needed.
==Example of working batch scripts to run a server==

''Note:'' It is recommended to finish your command line with -log with no parameter. Otherwise, server will run in the background.
<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
BeastsOfBermudaServer.exe -GameMode Combat -AdminPassword cxvbji -MapName Test_Performance -SessionName My_awesome_server -NumPlayers 32 -log
</syntaxhighlight>

<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
BeastsOfBermudaServer.exe -GameMode Life_Cycle -AdminPassword cxvbji -MapName Forest_Island -SessionName My_awesome_server -NumPlayers 32 ?MultiHome=xxx.xxx.xxx.xx?Port=7777?QueryPort=27015 -log
</syntaxhighlight>

===Config sections:===
*If the file is empty, the first thing you want to write is ''[/Script/BeastsOfBermuda.ServerGameInstance]'', then, under this, you can add several parameters that will rule and maintain your server.

'''GameMode''' = ''TheGameMode''
*Choose either Life_Cycle, Combat or Free_Roam. this will be the mode of play on your server.

'''GrowthLimit'''=''100.0f''
*This is a limit for growth on this server.
*Note that any value past 2 is very unlikely to be reached by a player, unless they dedicate their life to it. Growth is inverse exponential, and past 1.2 becomes incredibly slow.

'''bConsoleLocked'''=''true''
*If set to false, anyone can access the console, ''as the server will be in open console mode, treating everyone like default admins. It is NOT recommended to set it to false unless you are doing tests.''.

'''ReservedAdminSlots'''=''2''
*This is a setting to reserve slots for administrators on a server. These slots are filled when an admin joins the game.
*Its default value is 2.

'''ServerAdmins'''=''(UserSteamId64=PlayerId64, AdminRank="DefaultAdmin")''
*This represents an entry for a server admin. In beasts of bermuda, servers support admin ranks, and you can set custom administration ranks for your server.
*Note that this is treated like a list. Add a new ServerAdmins = (...) line for each administrator. (example will be linked below).

'''AdminRanks'''=''(AdminRank="DefaultAdmin", RankLevel = 0)''
*This Represents an administrator rank, with an associated level. The higher the Ranklevel, the higher the administrator. Any administrator with a higher rank than an other will be able to do anything this other admin can do, and more.

'''AdminCommandRules'''=''(CommandType = EAdminCommands::TheAdminCommand, MinimalRank="RankName")''

'''VeteransSteamIDs'''=''"someSteamId64"''
*This is an entry for a veteran on your server. Use it or not, this was requested by hosts. Veterans are allowed to have access to certain dinosaurs that would otherwise be blocked, and they can bypass Creature limits.
*Use one line per entry.

'''BannedSteamIDs'''=''"SomeSteamId64"''
*This is an entry for a banned player. Banned players are not allowed connection to your server, and will be notified of it uppon attempting to join.
*Use one line per entry.

'''SteamGroupName'''=''"Name"''
*if your server has a group on steam, you can put its name here, and the players will be able to find and join your group via the in-game interface. (not fully implemented yet - 11/28/2018 )

'''bRequiresSteamGroupToJoin''' = ''false''
*Whether or not your server requires to join the steamgroup specified using "SteamGroupName="Name".
*Players that are not part of this group will be denied access to your server.

'''DiscordLink'''=''"GZrhgrC"''
*If you have a community discord. Players will be able to find it via the in-game interface. The link must only contain the key associated with the invite, for security reasons.

'''bDisplayIntroMessage'''= 'false''
*Whether to display a welcome message or not. See [[Message of the day]] for details on how to set up a welcome message.

'''bUseHardGroupLimits''=''false''
*This sets a hard limit to groups. Creatures with a group limit will not be allowed together past the value defined in CreatureLimits.
*If kept to false, the game will instead apply an exponentially growing discomfort to players trying to group up with more than the limit.

'''bDisableGlobalChat'''=''false''
*Whether to disable the global chat on your server. Local and group chat will still be available.

'''+CreatureLimits'''=''(CreatureType=EDinoType::TheDinoType, PercentAllowed=100.0f, GroupLimit=999, bRequiresVeteran=False)''
*Creature limits on your server. Similarly to Admin rules, these are entries, one per line.
*Valid values for EDinoType are:
::Acrocanthosaurus,
::Apatosaurus,
::Elasmosaurus,
::Kronosaurus,
::Ichthyovenator,
::Megalosaurus,
::Mosasaurus,
::Oryctodromeus,
::Pachycephalosaurus,
::Parasaurolophus,
::Pteranodon,
::Tyrannosaurus,
::Utahraptor,
::Velociraptor,

*There will be one for each playable species implemented to the game.
Afterwards you will need to create a new section for your autosave configuration. It needs to be at the end of the file with the header ''[/Script/BeastsOfBermuda.SaveSystem]''

'''AutosaveTime'''=''300.0f''

==Setting up dedicated Server using SteamCMD or Steam Client Dedicated Server tool==

===Steam CMD===

<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir your/installdir/beastsofbermuda_ds +app_update 882430 +quit
</syntaxhighlight>
===Via Steam client software===

==Example of working batch scripts to run a server==

''Note:'' It is recommended to finish your command line with -log with no parameter. Otherwise, server will run in the background.
<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
BeastsOfBermudaServer.exe -GameMode Combat -AdminPassword cxvbji -MapName Test_Performance -SessionName My_awesome_server -NumPlayers 32 -log
</syntaxhighlight>

<syntaxhighlight lang="batch">
BeastsOfBermudaServer.exe -GameMode Life_Cycle -AdminPassword cxvbji -MapName Forest_Island -SessionName My_awesome_server -NumPlayers 32 ?MultiHome=xxx.xxx.xxx.xx?Port=7777?QueryPort=27015 -log
</syntaxhighlight>

HibiscousDragon: Removed Sacred Mega at Pred's request

Exclusive Skins are unique skins that were obtainable by the player through special means. Only a limited number of Exclusive Skins are given out to particular players, such as developers and pre-release donators.

Players who do not own Exclusive Skins can still acquire one if one or both of their dinosaur’s parents have them. If one parent has the skin, the offspring has a chance to inherit layers from the exclusive skin. If both parents have the skin, then it is a 100% chance to inherit aspects of the exclusive skin. The offspring cannot use the skin again if it dies.

At the moment, there are fourteen Exclusive Skins:

* Senoba’s Rex (Exclusive to Senoba.)
* Rook’s Pteranodon (Exclusive to Rook.)
* Callie's Apatosaurus (Exclusive to Callie.)
* Glimmer Megalosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Mosasaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Apatosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Acrocanthosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Tyrannosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Saichania (Exclusive to Howdn.)
* Glimmer Oryctodromeus (Exclusive to Mexymii.)
* Glimmer Tropeognathus (Exclusive to TurboTurkey.)(Not yet implemented.)
* Phantom Shimmer Pteranodon (Event prize.)
* Magma Shimmer Saichania (Event prize.)
* Shimmer Ichthyovenator (Event prize, not yet released.)

Note: "Glimmer" denotes a donor skin, "shimmer" denotes an event prize skin.

== Developer-exclusive Skins ==

* The Sen Rex is a non-customizable, [[Tyrannosaurus rex]] skin with a white marking around its face, resembling a skull. It is exclusive to the developer Senoba.[[File:Moonlitrexy.png|thumb|right|thumb|400px|border|The Sen Rex at night.]]

* The Rook Pteranodon is a non-customizable, [[Pteranodon]] skin that superficially resembles a mechanical pteranodon. It is exclusive to the developer Rook.

* Callie's Apatosaurus is a non-customizable, [[Apatosaurus]] skin that is grey and covered with rune-like black markings. The rune-like markings on its head, neck, and underbelly glow a vibrant orange. It is exclusive to the modeler Callie.

== Donor-exclusive Skins ==
"Glimmer" skins are aptly named after their ability to glow in the dark.

* The Glimmer [[Megalosaurus]] skin is only available for players who donated for the Mighty Megalosaurus rank, which was $70. This is no longer purchasable.

* Similarly, the Glimmer [[Mosasaurus]] skin is also only available for players who donated for the Menacing Mosasaurus rank, which was $550. This as well is no longer purchasable.

* The Glimmer [[Acrocanthosaurus]] skin is no different. It was $120, gave access to the Accredited Acrocanthosaurus rank, and is no longer purchasable.

* Similarly, the Glimmer [[Mosasaurus]] skin is also only available for players who donated for the Menacing Mosasaurus rank, which was $550. This as well is no longer purchasable.

* The Glimmer [[Tyrannosaurus rex]] skin is no different. The purchase tier gave access to the Terrifying Tyrannosaurus rank. It is also no longer purchasable.

* The Glimmer [[Apatosaurus]] skin is only available for players who donated for the Amazing Apatosaurus rank, which was $2,800. Players who donated for the Amazing Apatosaurus rank not only received the Glimmer Apatosaurus skin, but could request for a creature of their choice to be added to the game. At the moment, this rank can still be purchased and you can request your own creature, but you won't get the Glimmer Apatosaurus skin - instead you will eventually receive the glimmer skin of the creature you requested! [[File:GlimmerMegCave.jpg|thumb|right|thumb|400px|border|The pre-release donor-exclusive Glimmer [[Megalosaurus]] skin, showcasing its vibrant glow in a dark cave.]]

== Event-exclusive Skins ==
"Shimmer" skins are aptly named after their ability to glow in the dark.

The Phantom Shimmer [[Pteranodon]] skin was only available as an event prize for players who participated and won in the Pteranodon Video Contest of June 2019. This makes it the first glowing skin to not be part of a donated rank. Originally, this skin had a non-glowing variant, though this was scrapped.

The Magma Shimmer [[Saichania]] skin was only available as an event prize for the participants of the Saichania Video Contest of January 2020.

== Upcoming Exclusive Skins ==

The Shimmer Ichthyovenator Skin currently has it's event running and will soon be available as an event prize to all who participate.

In the future, it is very likely that '''every''' creature will have its own Shimmer skin. Similarly to the Pteranodon Video Contest, future community events may give them out - so if you wish to obtain one, stay sharp!

At the moment, there are fifteen Exclusive Skins:

* Senoba’s Rex (Exclusive to Senoba.)
* Rook’s Pteranodon (Exclusive to Rook.)
* Callie's Apatosaurus (Exclusive to Callie.)
* Sacred Megalosaurus (Translator exclusive)
* Glimmer Megalosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Mosasaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Apatosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Acrocanthosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Tyrannosaurus (Pre-release donor exclusive.)
* Glimmer Saichania (Exclusive to Howdn.)
* Glimmer Oryctodromeus (Exclusive to Mexymii.)
* Glimmer Tropeognathus (Exclusive to TurboTurkey.)(Not yet implemented.)
* Phantom Shimmer Pteranodon (Event prize.)
* Magma Shimmer Saichania (Event prize.)
* Shimmer Ichthyovenator (Event prize, not yet released.)

Note: "Glimmer" denotes a donor skin, "shimmer" denotes an event prize skin.

== Developer-exclusive Skins ==

* Sacred Megalosaurus is a customizable, [[Megalosaurus]] skin, that has cuneiform markings running all across the body. Developers hinted that the runes on the body have a meaning and can be read. It is exclusive to Translators that have a 100% completion on their language. (Note that you must be fluent in the language to become a Translator)

== Donor-exclusive Skins ==

== Event-exclusive Skins ==

== Upcoming Exclusive Skins ==
