The creation of Beasts of Bermuda
Why was Beasts of Bermuda created:

We wanted to create a game that we would be enjoyable to play and we wanted to make people satisfied with a dinosaur game
and it's gameplay. It's also a way for us to share our fascination/passion for dinosaurs.
We were highly "trained" players in different pvp games and we wanted to take those aspects into this game and make it
enjoyable and skill based, wherein people can get better and better and the journey of getting better never stops.

What was the main drive to keep improving the game:

When we first started the project we mostly did it for fun, but people kept liking and playing the game we're making.
We also got a lot of feedback which helped a lot to get new and refreshing ideas for the game.
The support we got from out fans kept encouraging us to continue to keep improving the game, both the gameplay and
graphics, to make BoB not one of those games that would be forgotten.

Why did you want to add talents:

After the core implementation of the game was finished, when the game's free-roaming was working completely,
we wanted to make the game's pvp more interesting by adding talents which you could use to make your dinosaur stronger.
After a couple of weeks of thinking the idea came to make a talent based system in which you can use talents to upgrade
certain abilities, like faster regain of stamina, being faster in swimming or have a stronger bite.

How was the relationship between the devs during the creation of the game:

We (the developers) have been communicating on a regular basis from the beginning of the development of the game.
We would communicate a lot about certain features and if it was a good idea to add them and there would also be
conversations about new mechanics and ideas.

Why did the dev-team chose this art style for the game:

We chose a cross between Mayan, and Aztec with a hint of West Coast Indigenous Art because of the region of the Bermuda
Triangle is in South America where most of that art resides, as well as aesthetic choice.
The west coast patterns are put in to separate and make them a little more unique to the game. Visually we wanted
something clean yet old looking. The color scheme of the game generally is bright and happy,
because it takes place in a tropical environment.

Then there's forest island, adapted from Asoka's Forest Island, which is divided in two by an ocean. If a megapack is on one island you can cross to the other at your own risk. There's also a mini island in the middle to make the journey easier.

What is Beasts of Bermuda?
In Beasts of Bermuda, you play as a prehistoric creature native to the mysterious islands of Bermuda: a tropical ecosystem absent from any human contact. With its proneness to storms, forest fires and shifting tides, Bermuda is an ever-changing ecosystem.
Choose from up to 18 available creatures, herbivore or carnivore, and battle your way through the severities of hunger, thirst, stress and predation, which constantly threaten your survival. Play whatever suits you best, whether it be a flying, swimming or running creature, and thrive the islands.

It is currently under development, and release December 21st 2018 as a primarily multiplayer server experience. Play it now!

What does Beasts of Bermuda offer?
Beasts of Bermuda offers the experience of playing in unique niches as an aquatic, flying, or terrestrial creature. Certain creatures specialise in unique gameplay. For instance, piscivores offer a different lifestyle to traditional carnivores as they are both adept at swimming and running.

It also offers unique map elements. Whether you're seeking a cave for shelter from a storm, waiting for the tide to drop in order to walk across to a new island, or migrating to avoid a forest fire or depleted watering hole, the map is always changing and the world is alive.

The playable creatures in Beasts of Bermuda all have their own unique abilities. Some can grab, others can pounce. Some can even climb up walls. Large carnivores can sniff for prey, and herbivores have special bonuses for herding together. Every animal is different in Beasts of Bermuda, and a lot of effort has been put into making them fun mechanics to enjoy.

Comfort is a unique mechanic to Beasts of Bermuda. Comfort determines how healthy your creature is. At its highest peak, a creature can grow well and healthy. At low comfort, however, a creature becomes stressed and may die. Stress can be caused (but is not limited to) by standing near too many carnivores, exposure to a harsh storm or losing too much health.

Beasts of Bermuda also gives players free choice of how they want to look. Skins are completely customisable, allowing the player a free range of colour choices, whether it be for camouflage or dazzle. Additionally, the talent mechanic lets a creature level-up and spend points into different kinds of play styles, such as extra health or speed.

Breeding is also available; offspring will be mixtures of their parent's corresponding skins and colors as well as occasionally sporting leucistic or melanistic traits.

Many different challenges are always present on the islands of Bermuda that threaten survival. One must find food and quench their Thirst in the ever changing environment. Different animals the player can choose from having different means of obtaining food. Some are carnivores, needing to hunt and eat other players to survive. Other creatures are herbivores, and thus have a more peaceful means of eating. Piscivores are a mix, being capable of eating other players, or eating fish for survival. Along with the necessities from day to day survival, mother nature is always at your heels with unpredictable Weather, keeping the game interesting and entertaining to play.

Current Gamemodes

* Free Roam - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death. In this mode, the objective is what you make of it. There are many different objectives players frequently take on, be it achieving a high score, taking down others in combat, exploring the map, or herding up and socializing. This mode offers a relaxed atmosphere in which the player can do as they wish. We've been discussing additional game modes due to interest and feedback among our community, and we have a few ideas we would like to implement.

* Life-cycle - Gamemode in which the player starts as a juvenile of any species they wish and continues to grow, becoming more powerful over time in a multiplayer environment. Gradual ontogeny is also a feature under this category that adds to the realism aspect of growing from a juvenile to an adult; eventually, accompanying model changes differentiating younger members of different species from their older counterparts. This mode is coupled with a talent or skillpoint-based system, in which the player becomes more powerful in ways they can choose.

* Combat-based system - A player must successfully hunt and kill other players in order to gain points. Here, risk vs reward will very much be a factor as the larger the foe you down, the more reward you will gain.

Regardless of the selected mode of play settings may differ from server to server based upon their owner's preferences.

Where is Beasts of Bermuda in its development?
Beasts of Bermuda began development on January 16th, 2017. Currently, the game offers a fully functional game world with many combat mechanics and map-based survival elements already in place. Make no mistake, our game is still pre-release and is still very much under development. Future development will likely focus on expanding our playable creature roster, improving the quality of our graphics, models, and general assets, and then implementing additional game modes beyond Free Roam.

The development team has recently announced on their steam page that Beasts of Bermuda will be releasing on December 21st, 2018. Also within their steam page, is their patch notes where you can read in detail what new mechanics have been implemented. The best way, however, to keep up with development is to join their discord here: https://discord.gg/KZKzGTT where you can ask the Devs in the appropriate channels about the current build of the game.
What creatures are planned to be playable?
The following creatures have been confirmed for Beasts of Bermuda and have a model. Most will be playable upon EA release.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Oryctodromeus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

It is likely the following creatures will be playable due to our interest in expanding the niches available to players in Beasts of Bermuda. Many of these animals are selected due to their unique niches or ability to utilize certain gameplay mechanics. Many are piscivores, aquatics, flying creatures, or semiaquatic animals.
Discussed creatures are animals that have been discussed to be added, but have not been confirmed and are less likely to be added. The developers hope to have at least two creatures of every type to the game. With the proper resources, some of these creatures may be added.

Where the words (one of) appear, only one creature of that group will be added.
Why does Beasts of Bermuda need Donations?
Beasts of Bermuda needs funds to commission and contract professionals for services related to modeling, animating, sound creation, skin design, level design, and just overall improvements. Up to this point, the game has been created by Predatoria and Vipe, two indie developers focused on the coding behind the game, with freelance contribution from several contributors. Most of our current models are from asset stores and we want to replace them with professional models. To bring our game to the next level of quality, we need to network with professionals in all departments of game design rather than just indefinitely coding more mechanics into the game, which requires funding neither of us can afford to do.

Want to help donate? Here's the link to the GoFundMe:

If you'd liked to help out by using PayPal, which is preferred since there's less of a pay cut, here's the email address to send it to:

mdweiss@ncsu.edu

There are also a rank of donators. These ranks are reached when some people make a certain amount to their donations.
If your friendship becomes high enough with another player of the same species and opposite gender, you can nest with them. Being friends increases comfort and points.

Enemies are made when two carnivores, or a carnivore and herbivore, are too close. They will stress out and slowly become enemies, which decreases their comfort further.
The Lurdusaurus in the game will be the first semi-aquatic herbivore, comfortable on land and in the water, but not masters of moving on either. The Velociraptor is the smallest creature that can be selected for play in Beasts of Bermuda. It is a carnivore and must eat meat in order to survive. Though it does not have the piscivorous trait, some players have been able to sustain themselves eating fish as the Velociraptor due to its relatively high swimming speed.

It has a very low weight, and grants very little food to large predators. It also, however, consumes very little of a carcass when eating, and works very well as a scavenger. It has a high metabolism and must eat regularly in order to survive.

The Velociraptor has the highest stamina pool of any creature, possessing 150. This allows it to run and jump a significant amount before tiring. It is also highly adept at jumping, allowing it to climb and reach high ledges and rocks.

The Velociraptor's primary attack is an ordinary bite. It deals light damage and must bite larger foes a significant amount of times in order to land a kill.

The Velociraptor's secondary attack is a pounce, which is capable of latching onto large prey. A pack of Velociraptor can down large opponents such as the Acrocanthosaurus quite efficiently.

Unique Abilities: The Velociraptor has several unique abilities. It is able to pounce nearly all of the creatures in the game. The Velociraptor is also the only creature in Beasts of Bermuda capable of climbing onto ledges, cliffs, walls, and some trees. In order to successfully grab a ledge, a player must be holding down the use keybind while approaching a grabbable surface and while in the air. A Velociraptor can jump from surface to surface. Once on a surface, a Velociraptor can jump off and safely glide to the ground. The Velociraptor may even be able to nest in trees in the future. Finally, it is able to enter Oryctodromeus burrows, even as an adult.

Other Facts: The Velociraptor was the first dinosaur to be added to Beasts of Bermuda. It is the main predator of Oryctodromeus. Being able to enter its burrows, there is almost no escape for these little herbivores. A pack of Velociraptors is a deadly force of nature, and even a skilled, lone velociraptor can take out large quarry.

The Velociraptor has no weather resistance and must take shelter from storms in order to survive.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Oryctodromeus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

FAQ
* What platforms will Beasts of Bermuda be available on?

Currently, Beasts of Bermuda only has Windows support as adding support for other operating systems is low on our priority list. In the future, MAC and Linux support will be added as well. Steam will be our method of distribution. Beasts of Bermuda is a PC game and will not function on consoles.

* When will Beasts of Bermuda be officially released from Early Access?

As of right now there is no current confirmation, as it has just entered its Early Access phase.

* Will Beasts of Bermuda have singleplayer support, or will it strictly be a multiplayer game?

Beasts of Bermuda is being created as a multiplayer game. If a player wishes to do so, they can host a server and play alone, but multiplayer play is strongly encouraged.
Overview
The Megalosaurus is a playable carnivorous creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is a fast predator that can chase its prey for long distances without tiring out from stamina. Such prey include the Parasaurolophus, Lurdusaurus and Ichthyovenator, as well as most juvenile creatures.

The Megalosaurus can detect the amount of health a nearby creature has. This lets the Megalosaurus properly decide whether a hunt should be initiated or not, as the health of a creature can determine if a fight will be easy or rough. Additionally, the Megalosaurus can invest talent points into the ability Identification to further enhance its ability to smell, further revealing their stamina, comfort and even ability power. With such knowledge of its prey, the Megalosaurus can easily capitalize on their weakness.

_________________________________________________________

Pros and Cons
Pros:

+ Can reveal the information of its prey

+ High damage

+ Good runner

Cons:

- Vulnerable to larger predators such as the Acrocanthosaurus

- Has to eat quite frequently

- Somewhat low health

_________________________________________________________

Abilities
*Primary Attack: A large, outward bite. It deals high damage and has a moderate rate of attack speed.

*Secondary Attack: Same as the Primary Attack, except it makes the Megalosaurus bite downwards instead of forwards.

Special Ability: The Megalosaurus can gather the information of its prey.
When the Ability Key is held down, a cursor will appear on the screen. When it is released, the creature in the center of the cursor will be identified, allowing the Megalosaurus to see its stats. This ability consumes ability power.

_________________________________________________________

Weakness
The Megalosaurus is far from a dominant predator. It is threatened by predators much more larger and dangerous than it, such as the Acrocanthosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus rex, as well as the Mosasaurus if near a large body of water.

The Megalosaurus is also sensitive to harsh storms. It must take refuge from intense storms by hiding in caves, which may already be occupied by another predator.

_________________________________________________________

Additional Notes
* The Megalosaurus is the second most popular predator in the game, with the first being Tyrannosaurus rex.

Carnivores must rely on eating meat in order to survive. In Beasts of Bermuda, there are two sources of meat in the game. The first comes in the form of carcasses, which spawn any time a player or AI animal dies. The second source of meat for carnivores comes in the form of fish. Most carnivores will have extreme difficulty fishing if they are not harboring the piscivorous trait. All piscivores are carnivores, and thus are capable of eating carcasses as well as fish.

Larger carnivores consume carcasses more swiftly than smaller ones, and thus a larger carnivore must either eat larger prey or eat smaller prey than a tiny carnivore would need in order to survive.

There are many in-game carnivores currently available for play. These are:
* Acrocanthosaurus
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor (Will not be present on initial release due to an outdated model).
* Velociraptor
* Ichthyovenator
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus (Aquatic)
* Elasmosaurus (Aquatic)(Will not be present on initial release due to an outdated model).
* Kronosaurus (Aquatic)
* Pteranodon (Flyer)

Like herbivores, carnivores are also capable of overeating and gaining weight. In order to do so, one must continue eating food from carcasses or in the form of fish beyond the point at which their food is full.

Carnivores gain points for successfully hunting and killing other players that are not a member of their species. This includes all piscivores, as they too can eat carcasses if need be.

It should be noted that not all carnivores appear under the Carnivores tab of the Dinosaur Selection UI screen. Some are found under the Marine tab or the Flyers tab.

All carnivores are stressed by the presence of other carnivores as well as herbivores. They all lose comfort when in close proximity to others that are not their kind or not in their group.

Carnivores are only capable of grouping with others of their own kind, and cannot group cross-species.

Aggressive play, territorialism, and hunting are all encouraged for carnivores with the exception of ones possessing the piscivorous trait. Since non-piscivorous carnivores need to kill and eat other players for food in order to survive, they will likely be aggressive and one should be warily approaching a carnivore. Players with high food will lose food more quickly than ones with low food, while simultaneously raking in points more rapidly. Well-fed carnivores also recover HP, stamina, and ability power more quickly, thus providing an incentive to keep oneself well-fed. This is to deliberately promote an environment in which carnivores always want to top off their hunger meter, providing a gameplay reason for one to be on the hunt frequently.

* Sandbox - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death.

Game Modes to Be Released

Merit-based system - It's a game mode where you choose pretty weak creatures and over time you earn merit points which will allow a number of you to choose other larger and more powerful creatures.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Oryctodromeus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

* Sandbox - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death.

Game Modes to Be Released

Merit-based system - It's a game mode where you choose pretty weak creatures and over time you earn merit points which will allow a number of you to choose other larger and more powerful creatures.

* Sandbox - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death.

Game Modes to Be Released

Merit-based system - It's a game mode where you choose pretty weak creatures and over time you earn merit points which will allow a number of you to choose other larger and more powerful creatures.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

Lurdusaurus is a large herbivorous ornithopod. Lurdusaurus is unique among ornithopods for its stout build and relatively short limbs, giving it an uncanny resemblance to the ankylosaurs despite not being a direct relative. This short, stout build is thought to have served a similar purpose as it does in the hippopotamus, allowing the creature to move on both land and in the water.

The Lurdusaurus in the game will be the first semi-aquatic herbivore, comfortable on land and in the water, but not masters of moving on either. This allows the Lurdusaurus to use the water to escape the predators of the land, and land to escape aquatic predators. This means that the Ichthyovenator is currently the prime candidate for Lurdusaurus' main predator, since it can easily follow no matter where Lurdusaurus tries to go.

The Lurdusaurus will have two attacks. Its primary attack will be a frontal paw swipe attack, while its secondary attack will be a stomp.

Unique Ability: The Lurudsaurus will be a semi-aquatic herbivore, able to freely move from land to sea to feed on new food sources and evade predators.<br>

Other facts: While currently not in the game, the Lurdusaurus will be in the EA release.

Carnivores can only invite members of their species to their group, while herbivores can invite other herbivorous species.

Carnivores of the same species will lose comfort if they are not in a group.

One can challenge another member of the group to increase their standing. If the alpha dies, the next highest person becomes the alpha.

Over time, people in a group will become closer friends. Once they become close enough friends, they can nest.

Nesting is a mechanic that has recently been added to Beasts of Bermuda as of November (2018).

In order to nest, there must be a male and a female who are at least C grade friendship with one another, who are in a pack or herd together, who are of the same species, and who are both releasing pheromones which can be enabled or disabled by clicking a green circle on your HUD resulting in the corresponding message. They must also be within a certain distance of one another. If any of these conditions are not met the game prompts you why you cannot mate with that player.

When two dinosaurs are close enough friends, they will be able to nest.

Nesting is divided into two phases - gestation and incubation. Gestation time varies based on health while incubation is 20 minutes regardless of species. All eggs will incubate at the same time.

When a pair of players mate, the female begins creating an egg. On her HUD the egg HUD will show up. The fullness of the egg indicates how far along you are in creating your egg. Once it is full you will be able to lay your egg in a nest. You do not have to lay your egg until you are ready. You can carry it indefinitely and it's always ready for laying. You can also mate again while carrying an egg and develop a second egg. You can develop as many eggs as you want by mating while carrying eggs. However, you cannot mate while an egg is developing, so to accumulate many eggs you must wait for each one to develop individually and mate once it's ready.

The male can continue mating with the female to develop more eggs so that she is carrying more than one at a time. Different males can also mate with the same female and as such, she will carry eggs that belong to different fathers.

There is a catch to nesting; the female pays a price for carrying these eggs. She can't just carry 100 eggs around without penalty. Each egg increases the rate at which her food decays, the rate at which her water decays, and it drops her comfort a bit. She's also a little bit slower for each egg, so carrying a dozen eggs will be a real challenge. The Good Parent talent reduces these effects quite a bit.

From the moment of conception, an egg is vulnerable. If the mother is extremely stressed or gets hit in the stomach hard enough, there will be a high pitched cry, signaling that the egg has been damaged. Eggs can also be damaged once they have been laid. A damaged egg will lead to negative talents.

Players can possess the eggs and hop around in them. Once the babies hatch, their skin will be a combination of the parents skins with some random variation. The babies will also have a chance of inheriting talents their parents obtained. Inherited talents can have +1 or +2.

Players will be able to track family relationships using a family tree built into the game. If two related individuals have kids it will result in incest.

It is currently under development, and is set to release on December 21st 2018 as a primarily multiplayer server experience.

* Sandbox - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death.

Game Modes to Be Released

Merit-based system - It's a game mode where you choose pretty weak creatures and over time you earn merit points which will allow a number of you to choose other larger and more powerful creatures.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Oryctodromeus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

The list of discussed creatures is as follows:

Here's the link to the GoFundMe:

https://www.gofundme.com/beasts-of-bermuda

If you'd liked to help out by using PayPal, which is preferred since there's less of a pay cut, here's the email address to send it to:

mdweiss@ncsu.edu

There are also a rank of donators. These ranks are reached when some people make a certain amount to their donations.

* Sandbox - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death.

Game Modes to Be Released

Merit-based system - It's a game mode where you choose pretty weak creatures and over time you earn merit points which will allow a number of you to choose other larger and more powerful creatures.

* Acrocanthosaurus
* Apatosaurus
* Elasmosaurus
* Ichthyovenator
* Kronosaurus
* Lurdusaurus
* Megalosaurus
* Mosasaurus
* Oryctodromeus
* Pachycephalosaurus
* Parasaurolophus
* Pteranodon
* Tyrannosaurus rex
* Utahraptor
* Velociraptor

The following creatures have been confirmed to be added to Beasts of Bermuda but do not have a model yet. They will be added sometime after EA release.

* Saichania
* Tropeognathus

Carnivores:<br>

There are also a rank of donators. These ranks are reached when some people make a certain amount to their donations.
The Acrocanthosaurus is a large, playable carnivore in Beasts of Bermuda. It is one of the slowest carnivores in the game, only being faster than the semiaquatic Ichthyovenator's terrestrial movement speed. However, it has the highest damage output and the strongest bite of any carnivore currently in-game. It also has the highest health and size. The Acrocanthosaurus is a superb ambusher due to its high damage output. It is the carnivore most capable of hunting the huge Apatosaurus and the swift Parasaurolophus.

Its attacks are fairly straightforward, possessing both a forwards-aimed and a downwards-aimed bite as its primary and secondary attack.

Special Abilities: Acrocanthosaurus will be able to inflict terrible bleeding wounds on its opponents. Bleeding is a status effect that damages health, comfort and raises injury damage. This allows the Acrocanthosaurus to engage in persistence hunting, wearing its prey out over long distances while they succumb to blood loss. A skilled Acrocanthosaurus can fell even the largest of creatures, so long as they are not allowed to recuperate.

Other facts: The Acrocanthosaurus will be the second strongest carnivore in the EA release, after the Tyrannosaurus. It makes up for the lack of power to Tyrannosaurus with superior speed, meaning it is able to pursue a wider variety of prey over long distances.

The Acrocanthosaurus is capable of doing a small jump that costs significant stamina. It serves the only purpose of allowing the Acrocanthosaurus to avoid getting stuck on small ledges or rocks in certain areas, granting little other utility.

The Acrocanthosaurus has a very mild amount of weather resistance and must take refuge from intense weather.

It also has a fast metabolism and must eat regularly to avoid starvation.

There is currently one unique build for Acrocanthosaurus

*Cliff Build - be able to maneuver around cliffs faster than your prey and gain the high ground.

There is a super powerful Acrocanthosaurus known as the Demon Acro, which patrols the temple on the map. It is extremely powerful and guards the secrets of the temple. Tread wisely.

Food is a resource that must be filled to avoid death due to starvation. Food, like thirst, is a resource that decays exponentially. This means that the more food the player has, the faster the food will decay. Given the many effects hunger has, it is definitely in a player's interest to keep their food high, even if it means eating more. This also allows a player to last on little food for a while before the full effects of starvation begin to happen. Once a player has 0 food, the creature they are playing as will begin rapidly losing HP. From 100%, most creatures can last 33 minutes without eating.

Most creatures in Beasts of Bermuda have 100 food, though there are a couple exceptions. The Apatosaurus and Mosasaurus both have 150 food. It is possible to exceed 100 food. In order to do so, a player must continue eating while they are full on food. However, if this is done they will become overweight. The maximum fill past the full point is 30%.

Sources of Food
Different creatures obtain food in different ways. There are three different means by which a player can obtain food, only some of which may be valid at any given period of time.
* Plants will grant food upon consumption for herbivores.
* Fish grant significantly more food if a creature has the piscivorous trait. Herbivores cannot consume fish at all. Most carnivores will struggle to catch any fish due to the mechanics of swimming being very difficult for them.
* Carnivores can eat carcassess in order to satisfy their food requirement. These drop from any creature when they die, and larger creatures will drop larger carcasses with more food.

Effects of Hunger

Attack: Kronosaurus is able to bite using the left-click button on your mouse. This attack does moderate damage on average, changing depending on which dinosaur it's biting. (If it bit an Apatosaurus, it would do less damage than if it were to bite a Parasauraulophus.)

Unique Abilities: The Kronosaurus can hold right-click to perform a charge attack that can do massive damage once released depending on how long the button was held. This shatters bone and cripples its prey, making for an easy kill.

Other Facts: An apex predator of the Bermuda seas, the Kronosaurus is an ambush hunter. Lying in the depths for unsuspecting prey, the Kronosaurus can have surprising speed when using its special ability. While primarily a carnivore, the Kronosaurus can feed on fish in times of desperation. One of the Kronosaurus' biggest competition is the Mosasaurus, with frequent confrontations occurring.
Kronosaurus is a large aquatic reptile. Kronosaurus is possibly the top of the food aquatic food chain in the game, despite their smaller size and slower speed compared to the Mosasaurus. A skilled Kronosaurus is able to use its special charging ability to deal immense damage to a target, but this attack requires timing and good aim to land, but can severely cripple or outright kill the target easily. The Kronosaurus had teeth which could become a few inches long but they lacked the lethal cutting edges what most big marine predators had. Luckily they had a strong bite and were a strong swimmer, it could use its special charging ability to deal immense damage to a target, but this attack requires timing and good aim to land, but can severely cripple or outright kill the target easily.
