Overview
The Elasmosaurus is a playable aquatic creature in Beasts of Bermuda. Though it does not possess the high health and damage of the Mosasaurus or the Kronosaurus, it is much faster than the latter, and its mobility can be used in a variety of situations.

It is piscivorous, meaning it specializes at eating fish. The Elasmosaurus can consume fish with ease thanks to its very long attack range. Finding fish is not a problem for it either, as it can reveal the location of fish from far away by holding down the scent key.

Despite being the weakest aquatic, its high speed allow it to dodge its opponents, and it even has the ability to grab and drown really small prey in a similar fashion to the Mosasaurus. This makes it a prominent enemy for other piscivorous creatures such as the Pteranodon.
Pros and Cons
Pros:

+ Grows fast

+ Long attack range

+ Can detect fish from far away

+ High Speed

+ Has access to the Baby Snatcher talent

Cons:

- Low health

- Low hunger

- Can die from beaching

- Low damage output

- Can easily die due to low health

- Due to high speed and low health, Elasmo must flee from fights

- Due to Mosa having a further distance dart, Mosa can catch elasmo off guard.
_________________________________________________________

Abilities
Unique Signature Attribute: The Elasmosaurus has an automatic aiming system, so it will always strike its targets when they are within its attack radius.

*Primary Attack: A quick bite, on par with raptors and other small creatures.

*Secondary Attack: A long-range dash that causes the Elasmosaurus to briefly rocket forwards at incredible speeds, which can be used jump out of the water (though caution is advised doing this near beaches as the Elasmosaurus might hit the ground and become beached). This is very similar to the Mosasaurus' secondary attack.

*Special Ability - Baby Snatcher: The Elasmosaurus must unlock this talent in order to utilize it. Once unlocked, it will be able to grab smaller creatures by holding the ability key next to them. As the victim is held, Ability power will slowly deplete (meaning you cannot hold them forever), and you are not able to attack the grabbed victim. However, you can drown the victim by dragging them deep underwater.

Unique Attribute: By using the scent key, the Elasmosaurus will highlight fish from far away, making them much easier to locate.

_________________________________________________________

Weakness
The Elasmosaurus is rather fragile, as it has relatively low HP for its size. It also starts the game as a vulnerable creature, and like all aquatic creatures, it can die from beaching itself.

The Elasmosaurus is also susceptible to being preyed upon by the Mosasaurus and the Kronosaurus. However, The Elasmosaurus is faster and has more stamina than the two, allowing it to dodge their attacks and, if needed, defend itself by retaliating back. Nonetheless, the Elasmosaurus is better off escaping, as one bite from a large predator can be an immediate death sentence for it.

_________________________________________________________

Additional Notes
* It is currently the only creature that has an auto-aim mechanic.

* The Elasmosaurus of Beasts of Bermuda is incredibly similar to 19th century depictions of Elasmosaurus, having a snake-like neck and the ability to crawl on land. In reality, its neck was incredibly stiff and it never left the ocean.

* Creating the Elasmosaurus and transforming it into a practical creature for gameplay was an extremely difficult endeavor, mostly due to the programming for its neck.

Information
The Acrocanthosaurus is a large, playable carnivore in Beasts of Bermuda. It is one of the slowest carnivores in the game, only being faster than the semiaquatic Ichthyovenator's terrestrial movement speed. However, it has the highest damage output and the strongest bite of any carnivore currently in-game. It also has the highest health and size. The Acrocanthosaurus is a superb ambusher due to its high damage output. It is the carnivore most capable of hunting the huge Apatosaurus and the swift Parasaurolophus.

Its attacks are fairly straightforward, possessing both a forwards-aimed and a downwards-aimed bite as its primary and secondary attack.

Special Abilities: Acrocanthosaurus is able to inflict terrible bleeding wounds on its opponents. Bleeding is a status effect that damages health, comfort and raises injury damage. This allows the Acrocanthosaurus to engage in persistence hunting, wearing its prey out over long distances while they succumb to blood loss. A skilled Acrocanthosaurus can fell even the largest of creatures, so long as they are not allowed to recuperate. It has also an Alarm Calls like the Parasaurolophus which allows the target to lose certain amount of stamina and reduce damage output by certain amount.

Other facts: The Acrocanthosaurus will be the second strongest carnivore in the EA release, after the Tyrannosaurus. It makes up for the lack of power to Tyrannosaurus with superior speed, meaning it is able to pursue a wider variety of prey over long distances as well as able to stack bleed on prey.

The Acrocanthosaurus is capable of doing a small jump that costs significant stamina. It serves the only purpose of allowing the Acrocanthosaurus to avoid getting stuck on small ledges or rocks in certain areas, granting little other utility.

The Acrocanthosaurus has a very mild amount of weather resistance and must take refuge from intense weather.

It also has a fast metabolism and must eat regularly to avoid starvation.

There is a super powerful Acrocanthosaurus known as the Demon Acro, which patrols the temple on the map. It is extremely powerful and guards the secrets of the temple. Tread wisely. Has been removed

Tips
- Speed or Damage tree are viable

- Pack of acro's can kill big dinosaurs like rex or apato

Pro's and Con's
Pros:

+ Group of acros can use ability to de-buff rex and drain the rex's stamina complete and reduce the rex's damage by 33%. allowing the acros to kill the Rex.

+ Really strong in numbers

Cons:

- Weak as solo

- Skill dependent. If you chose damage tree you are significantly slower. If you chose speed tree you are fast but low damage output and special ability costs a lot of resource

It has also an Alarm Calls like the Parasaurolophus which allow to follow a prey on a very long distance and it has the same feature than the Parasaurolophus.

Other facts: The Acrocanthosaurus will be the second strongest carnivore in the EA release, after the Tyrannosaurus. It makes up for the lack of power to Tyrannosaurus with superior speed, meaning it is able to pursue a wider variety of prey over long distances.

There is currently one unique build for Acrocanthosaurus

*Cliff Build - be able to maneuver around cliffs faster than your prey and gain the high ground.

There is a super powerful Acrocanthosaurus known as the Demon Acro, which patrols the temple on the map. It is extremely powerful and guards the secrets of the temple. Tread wisely.

Tips
- Speed or Damage tree are viable

- Pack of acro's can kill big dinosaurs like rex or apato

Overview
The Saichania is a playable herbivore creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is a large, durable creature that possesses many defensive abilities that greatly help it defend against any would-be attacker.

Thriving in battle, the Saichania can use its weaponized tail to cripple its enemies, oftentimes causing them to limp almost immediately after receiving a hit. The Saichania can also turn in place to ensure its tail is facing its opponent, but even if caught by surprise at the front, it can defend its head by using its spiky shield, reflecting incoming damage right back at the attacker.

Unfortunately, all these defensive capabilities come at a big cost: a severe lack of mobility. The Saichania is a terrible runner, and will often find itself unable to escape certain deadly situations.
+ High attack power

+ once big, Trex and Acro steer clear.

+ Really high injury damage. Cripples big predators leading the Sai to walk down the prey and finish them.

+ with the right build, it can cripple Mosa and kill it.

- Very slow

- Low stamina

- Loud
Abilities
Unique Signature Attribute: The Saichania is immune to injury, meaning it will never suffer from bone-break.

*Primary Attack: A fast tail swipe to the left. It deals high damage and injury, and costs a moderate amount of ability power.

*Secondary Attack: Has identical damage values to the Primary Attack, except it makes the Saichania swipe to the right instead of left.

*Special Ability: The Saichania unravels its aptly-named "Spiky Shield" ability, which massively reduces incoming damage for a few seconds. While active, any attacks made on the Saichania will be reflected back at the attacker (for a minimum of 50% of the damage dealt). This ability costs an enormous amount of ability power per activation.

Weakness
The Saichania doesn't have many predators, but oftentimes a very large pack of apex predators will be able to overwhelm a lone Saichania.
The Saichania also often fails to flee from nearby tornadoes.

Pros and Cons
Pros:

+ Super defensive

+ High attack power

+ once big, Trex and Acro steer clear.

+ Really high injury damage. Cripples big predators

Cons:

- Very slow

- Low stamina

- Loud

- vulnerable when young

_________________________________________________________

_________________________________________________________

Weakness
The Saichania doesn't have many predators, but oftentimes a very large pack of apex predators will be able to overwhelm a lone Saichania. Additionally, a Mosasaurus is able to drag it underwater, but risks being hit multiple times by the Saichania.

The Saichania also often fails to flee from nearby tornadoes.

_________________________________________________________

Additional Notes
* Despite the heaviness of the Saichania, it is incapable of knocking down or eating trees.
* The Saichania is the only creature that can turn in place.
* The Saichania is the only creature so far to possess two glimmer skins.

Tyrannosaurus Rex (T.rex/T-Rex) had lived throughout what is now known as western North America, on a former island continent known as Laramidia. Tyrannosaurus had a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. It lived during the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period, from 68 to 66 million years ago, and is one of the strongest and largest carnivores in the Beast of Bermuda islands.
Information
The Tyrannosaurus is by far the strongest terrestrial carnivore in-game. With a bite attack that does 450 damage, it can kill all but the largest animals in a few hits. However, its power is curtailed by having an extremely small pool of stamina. This makes the Tyrannosaurus an ambush hunter. Unlike the Acrocanthosaurus, which is a persistence hunter, the Tyrannosaurus rex is forced to lie in wait, hidden among the foliage, until a prey item passes by. If its attack does not connect and do the necessary injury damage to cripple its prey's movement, it will be left in the dust.

Unique Ability: The Tyrannosaurus rex is the largest predator on the islands. The T-rex is very fast, more than an acro but it is the creature that has the least stamina. The element of surprise is paramount for success with this creature, as it's ability is still being determined and might not even have one, depending on its gameplay.

Other Facts: The Tyrannosaurus have a feathered and scaly variant. Feathered has been removed at this time.

Tips
- Going all damage tree on a spawn Rex proves worthy due to the raw damage output

- Sneaky perk is a high tier perk. Rex is very loud.

- Hunger depletes fast so be careful

- Strong hunter even in solo. If player reaches good growth.

- Rex's are often targeted because if they get big they are unstoppable and give good food on death even as at small growth
Overview
The Velociraptor is a playable carnivore in Beasts of Bermuda. It is one of the smallest playable creatures in the game, rivaled only by the currently unreleased Oryctodromeus

The small stature of the Velociraptor gives it a plethora of advantages, such as squeezing through rocks, surviving immensely high falls, climbing trees, and most importantly, staying hidden. It can also jump at incredible heights: the highest of all creatures, and is even able to control the direction of its jump while in mid-air, allowing it to almost glide in the direction it chooses. Its high stamina pool (a full grown possessing 150) most definitely compliments its jumping.

Oftentimes, it is interpreted as a weak and skittish carnivore, but it is deceptively one of the strongest. Such small size allows the Velociraptor to dodge attacks and bite its targets with incredible agility. With enough careful practice, a single Velociraptor can kill creatures as large as a Tyrannosaurus rex!

Pros and Cons
Pros:

+ Small

+ High stamina

+ Can climb up trees and rocks

+ Jumps incredibly high

+ Can kill larger prey if player is skilled.

Cons:

- Slow running speed.

- Relies on jump to escape.

- Terribly low health, to the point where it will die from one hit by a large creature

- Low weather resistance

- Naturally low base damage

- Fast attack speed.

_________________________________________________________

Abilities
Unique Signature Attribute: The Velociraptor can climb up trees and rock walls by pressing E when jumping near a climbable surface. Pressing E while climbing will detach the Velociraptor, while pressing Spacebar will cause it to leap off the object.

*Primary Attack: An ordinary bite. It deals low damage but has very fast attack speed.

*Secondary Attack: A very lengthy pounce. Holding Mouse 2 will charge the pounce for maximum distance.

Unique Attribute: The Velociraptor possesses a significantly enlarged amount of stamina, having been granted 150 instead of the standard 100.

*Special Ability - Baby Snatcher: The Velociraptor must unlock this talent in order to utilize it. Once unlocked, it will be able to grab smaller creatures by holding the ability key next to them. As the victim is held, Ability power will slowly deplete (meaning you cannot hold them forever), and you are not able to attack the grabbed victim.

_________________________________________________________

Weakness
The biggest weakness of the Velociraptor is its frail health. Oftentimes, only one or two hit is needed to kill a Velociraptor.

The Velociraptor will often attempt to attack its target's blind spots, such as the back of the feet and the tail. Creatures that have attacks that reach near or beyond their feet such as the Ichthyovenator, Apatosaurus and Saichania can effectively brush off any Velociraptor that dares do so.

Lastly, the Velociraptor has very low weather resistance, and must seek shelter in even mild rain.

Additional Notes
* When the Oryctodromeus becomes a playable creature, its burrows will be able to be trespassed by the Velociraptor.

What is Beasts of Bermuda?
In Beasts of Bermuda, you play as a prehistoric creature native to the mysterious islands of Bermuda: a tropical ecosystem absent from any human contact. With its proneness to storms, forest fires, and shifting tides, Bermuda is an ever-changing ecosystem.
Choose from up to 18 available creatures and more to come, herbivore or carnivore, and battle your way through the severity of hunger, thirst, stress and predation, which constantly threaten your survival. Play whatever suits you best, whether it be a flying, swimming or running creature, and thrive the islands.

It is currently under development, and first released on December 21st, 2018 as a primarily multiplayer server experience. Check out the game's Steam page here!

What does Beasts of Bermuda offer?
Beasts of Bermuda offers the experience of playing in unique niches as an aquatic, flying, or terrestrial creature. Certain creatures specialize in unique gameplay. For instance, piscivores offer a different lifestyle to traditional carnivores as they are both adept at swimming and running.

It also offers unique map elements. Whether you're seeking a cave for shelter from a storm, waiting for the tide to drop in order to walk across to a new island, or migrating to avoid a forest fire or depleted watering hole, the map is always changing and the world is alive.

The playable creatures in Beasts of Bermuda all have their own unique abilities. Some can grab, others can pounce. Some can even climb up walls. Large carnivores can sniff for prey, and herbivores have special bonuses for herding together. Every animal is different in Beasts of Bermuda, and a lot of effort has been put into making them fun mechanics to enjoy.

Comfort is a unique mechanic to Beasts of Bermuda. Comfort determines how healthy your creature is. At its highest peak, a creature can grow well and healthy. At low comfort, however, a creature becomes stressed and may die. Stress can be caused by (but causes are not limited to) standing near too many carnivores, exposure to a harsh storm, or losing too much health.

Beasts of Bermuda also gives players free choice of how they want to look. skins are completely customizable, allowing the player a free range of color choices, whether it be for camouflage or dazzle. Additionally, the talent mechanic lets a creature level-up and spend points into different kinds of play styles, such as extra health or speed.

Breeding is also available; offspring will be mixtures of their parent's corresponding skins and colors as well as occasionally sporting mutations of the leucistic, melanistic, and wildcard varieties.

Many different challenges are always present on the islands of Bermuda that threaten survival. One must find food and quench their Thirst in the ever-changing environment. Different animals the player can choose from having different means of obtaining food. Some are carnivores, needing to hunt and eat other players to survive. Other creatures are herbivores, and thus have a more peaceful means of eating. Piscivores are a mix, being capable of eating other players, or eating fish for survival. Along with the necessities from day to day survival, mother nature is always at your heels with unpredictable Weather, keeping the game interesting and entertaining to play.

Current Gamemodes

* Free Roam - In this mode, the player can select any creature to play as without cost or punishment for death. In this mode, the objective is what you make of it. There are many different objectives players frequently take on, be it achieving a high score, taking down others in combat, exploring the map, or herding up and socializing. This mode offers a relaxed atmosphere in which the player can do as they wish. We've been discussing additional game modes due to interest and feedback among our community, and we have a few ideas we would like to implement.

* Life-cycle - The gamemode in which the player starts as a juvenile of any species they wish and continues to grow, becoming more powerful over time in a multiplayer environment. Gradual ontogeny is also a feature under this category that adds to the realism aspect of growing from a juvenile to an adult; eventually, accompanying model changes differentiating younger members of different species from their older counterparts. This mode is coupled with a talent or skillpoint-based system, in which the player becomes more powerful in ways they can choose. An additional aspect of this gamemode is the currently work-in-progress Trial System.

* Combat - A player must successfully hunt and kill other players in order to gain points. Here, risk vs reward will very much be a factor as the larger the foe you down, the more reward you will gain.

Regardless of the selected mode of play settings may differ from server to server-based upon their owner's preferences.

Where is Beasts of Bermuda in its development?
Beasts of Bermuda began development on January 16th, 2017. Currently, the game offers a fully functional game world with many combat mechanics and map-based survival elements already in place. Make no mistake, our game is still pre-release and is still very much under development. Future development will likely focus on expanding our playable creature roster, improving the quality of our graphics, models, and general assets, and then implementing additional game modes beyond Free Roam.

The development team has recently announced on their steam page that Beasts of Bermuda will be releasing on December 21st, 2018. Also within their steam page, is their patch notes where you can read in detail what new mechanics have been implemented. The best way, however, to keep up with development is to join their discord here: https://discord.gg/KZKzGTT where you can ask the Devs in the appropriate channels about the current build of the game.
Why does Beasts of Bermuda need Donations?
Beasts of Bermuda needs funds to commission and contract professionals for services related to modeling, animating, sound creation, skin design, level design, and just overall improvements. Up to this point, the game has been created by Predatoria and Vipe, two indie developers focused on the coding behind the game, with freelance contribution from several contributors. Most of our current models are from asset stores and we want to replace them with professional models. To bring our game to the next level of quality, we need to network with professionals in all departments of game design rather than just indefinitely coding more mechanics into the game, which requires funding neither of us can afford to do.

Want to help donate? Here's the link to the GoFundMe:
If you'd liked to help out by using PayPal, which is preferred since there's less of a pay cut, here's the email address to send it to:

There are also a rank of donators. These ranks are reached when some people make a certain amount to their donations.
Overview
The Megalosaurus is a playable carnivorous creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is a fast predator that can chase its prey for long distances with the help of its hefty stamina. Such prey include the Parasaurolophus, Velociraptor and Ichthyovenator, as well as most juvenile creatures.

The Megalosaurus can detect the amount of health a nearby creature has. This lets the Megalosaurus properly decide whether a hunt should be initiated or not, as the health of a creature can determine if a fight will be easy or rough. Additionally, the Megalosaurus can invest talent points into the ability Identification to further enhance its ability to detect, further revealing their stamina, comfort and even ability power. With such knowledge of its prey, the Megalosaurus can easily capitalize on their weakness.

Pros and Cons
Pros:

+ Can reveal the information of its prey

+ Decent damage

+ Good runner

+ Stronger in numbers. Enough to take down Trex

Cons:

- Vulnerable to larger predators such as the Acrocanthosaurus

- Middling weather resistance

- High skill gap if you wish to hunt bigger prey

- Weak as solo. Expect to hunt smaller creatures or live off of spawn gore as a solo player.

Abilities
*Primary Attack: A large, outward bite. It deals good damage and has a moderate rate of attack speed.

*Secondary Attack: Same as the Primary Attack, except it makes the Megalosaurus bite downwards instead of forwards.

Unique Attribute: The Megalosaurus possesses an enlarged amount of stamina, having been granted 110 instead of the default 100.

*Special Ability: The Megalosaurus can gather the information of its prey. When the Ability Key is held down, a cursor will appear on the screen. When this cursor is pointed at a creature, it will be identified, allowing the Megalosaurus to see its stats. This ability consumes ability power.

Weakness
The Megalosaurus is far from an apex predator. It is threatened by predators much more larger and dangerous than it, such as the Acrocanthosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus rex, as well as the Mosasaurus if near a large body of water.

Additional Notes
* The Megalosaurus is currently the fastest running creature in the game, tied with the Pachycephalosaurus. However, its speed pales in comparison to swimming creatures such as the Elasmosaurus and flying creatures such as the Pteranodon
