Overview

The Mosasaurus is a playable aquatic creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is an incredibly powerful and mobile predator capable of leaping out of the water to reach its prey, then locking it tight between its jaws before violently thrashing it into the water, dragging it down into the ocean depths in order to drown it and thus kill it.

The Mosasaurus is able to grab almost any creature its size, and can further bolster its grabbing capability through the use of talents. Due to this sheer size range of creatures it can grab, combined with the nearly impossible chance of escaping its locked jaws, the Mosasaurus has been well-received as one of the most feared creatures in the game, its power only rivalled by the Kronosaurus.

Abilities

  • Secondary Attack: A long-range dart attack, similar to Ichthyovenator's, that causes the Mosasaurus to rocket forwards, inflicting damage to any creature it comes into contact with during the duration of the charge. Young Mosasaurus may have trouble performing this attack due to its high ability power and stamina cost.

Special Ability: The Mosasaurus can grab smaller creatures in its jaws. While holding the ability key within a short distance of a creature (default ability keybind is Z), the Mosasaurus will snatch that creature in its jaws. Upon pressing the Primary Attack key, the Mosasaurus will thrash the held victim, inflicting damage. This thrash attack can be used continuously, as long as the Mosasaurus has sufficient ability power, which will consistently decrease as the victim is held. The larger the creature grabbed, the more ability power is required to hold and thrash. Creatures grabbed by the Mosasaurus cannot struggle out of its jaws unless the Mosasaurus is swimming.

Weakness

With the simple mistake of beaching itself, the Mosasaurus can suddenly turn from threatening to harmless. While on land, its overall mobility completely plummets, causing it to move and turn at an embarrassingly slow rate. Comfort constantly decreases at this state and terrestrial predators can easily kill it, so it must get back to the water as soon as possible or it will inevitably die.

The Mosasaurus faces constant threat from the Kronosaurus, which is capable of crippling the Mosasaurus with a well-aimed lunge and finishing it off with powerful bites. However, young Kronosaurus fall prey to an adult Mosasaurus.

Humorously, the Mosasaurus often fails to hunt the Lurdusaurus, which can chase after a Mosasaurus and cripple it with constant hits.

Additional Notes

  • The Mosasaurus is capable of grabbing any creature as long as it's big enough. Even young Apatosaurus are sometimes grabbed.
  • While the Kronosaurus is adept at hunting other aquatic creatures, Mosasaurus relies mostly on terrestrial prey.
  • Has the fastest land movement of the aquatics.
