The Scent System is the method in which creatures smell and all playable animals have it.

Smelling allows an animal to located carcasses, freshwater lakes, and other dinosaurs. The system is color coded and each creature has their own color. There are also different colors for various objects, for instance, meat and water. Water has the color blue and meat has the color red, which turns yellow and green over time when the meat spoils.

The scent is activated by pressing the scent key.

There are plans to revamp this system in the near future.

Carcasses give off a bright pink trail when smelling.
