Overview

The Tyrannosaurus is a playable carnivorous creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is by far the strongest terrestrial carnivore in-game. With a bite attack that does over 450 damage, it can kill all but the largest creatures in just a few hits.

A single bite from the Tyrannosaurus inflicts a substantial amount of injury damage, instantly crippling the movement of its prey. This ensures that a single strike will prevent its victim from escaping. However, the Tyrannosaurus often finds itself outpaced, as its power is curtailed by its terrible stamina. This makes the Tyrannosaurus reliant on devastating ambushes, hiding among rocks, ledges, and foliage until prey passes by.

Once the Tyrannosaurus has learned how to ambush well, it becomes a predator of unimaginable power.

Abilities

  • Special Ability: Titled "Devastating Ambush" – It's a very fast speed buff, that can be activated after 10 seconds of solid, nearly motionless crouching. — Once ready, an icon will appear as a status effect - press the Ability key once to trigger the Ability. Allowing the Tyrannosaurus 5 seconds of Increased speed as well as Freezing your stamina(but not your movement), stopping it from draining during the ability's active time. Devastating Ambush also has the exact same effect on walking speeds, however it's somewhat useless since the ability is more for running things down without getting exhausted, than for walking fast, for a short time.

  • Secondary Attack: Same as the Primary Attack, except it makes the Tyrannosaurus bite downwards instead of forwards.

Tips

  • Unlocking combat talents is recommended to make your Tyrannosaurus even deadlier. Unlocking all combat talents will allow you to deal some +550 damage.
  • The stomps of the Tyrannosaurus are very loud. Due to this, the Sneaky perk is high tier for the Tyrannosaurus, as it lets you walk silently and ambush prey.
  • Hunger depletes fast so be careful. Always be looking for food.
  • A well-grown Tyrannosaurus can do just fine hunting alone, though pack members are always a plus to have.
  • Young Tyrannosaurus are often targeted by other players in fear that it may grow to become an unstoppable hunter.

Weakness

The great strength of the Tyrannosaurus only shines in its adult stage. A juvenile Tyrannosaurus will find itself slow and weak, and susceptible to being hunted. This is made worse by its loud footsteps and shallow stamina pool. Growing a Tyrannosaurus is a difficult challenge, and it will take patience and time.

Even when fully grown, however, the bad turning radius of a Tyrannosaurus can prove to be a hindrance. Enemy creatures will often aim for the tail and heels of the Tyrannosaurus, which are its blind-spots. Try mitigating this weakness by blocking your tail against a wall or standing in deep water.
