Death can occur from many different influences, but currently only occurs when a player's HP reaches 0. Common sources of HP loss are starvation, dehydration, stress, and damage from combat or other game world elements such as falls or drowning. When a creature dies, it will spawn a carcass. Larger animals drop larger carcasses with more food.

Death due to a successful hunt from carnivores will result in the successful carnivore and its accompanying pack gaining a fraction of your points. If a player dies from other causes while fleeing other players, the player who hit them most recently will get credit for the kill. The expiration timer for this is 45 seconds.

Currently, when a player dies, they lose all of their points, but this will be reconsidered when server saving becomes a thing.

Herbivores do not gain anything from killing other players.
