Current Fish
Fish are AI creatures that can be found aimlessly swimming in ponds, rivers and the ocean. They provide a very small amount of food to any carnivore that bites them, but unless they are a piscivorous creature, they will suffer from food poisoning, which lowers comfort. The Scavenger talent allows creatures to gain more food from fish than the default value.
Additionally, fish can be picked up, and Piscivores gain satiation from eating fish, although non-piscivorous creatures gain no satiation and only receive half the food value gained from eating fish. Consuming fish also quenches a small amount of water, but they are not reliable sources of water due to how little of it they provide.
Fish were once playable, but this feature has been removed, mainly as it was only a fun gimmick.

Unreleased Fish
More varieties of fish have been confirmed in the future, notably larger and more lively. However, due the difficulty of programming AI, they are not planned to be released anytime soon.

Additional Notes
Though fish are the only AI creatures currently in the game, they are not perfectly programmed. They often swim in only one direction and sometimes even glitch through the map. They also do not have any complex behaviors so they will not swim away from dinosaurs either.
