Information
Acrocanthosaurus is a large playable carnivore of a similar build to Parasaurolophus in Beasts of Bermuda. Like Parasaurolophus, Acrocanthosaurus dances between the line of a Mid-Tier & an Apex. Meaning Acrocanthosaurus is a mix of the best aspects of both Realms. Speed & Durability.
Acrocanthosaurus Specializes itself as a pack based attrition hunter, Using its ability to apply the Bleed status effect to hinder its opponents ability to Heal. Acrocanthosaurus also has amongst the highest base natural healing capability in the Game. Additionally, Acrocanthosaurus has a Powerful ability to apply a damage debuff to its target for a limited duration named Intimidating Roar.
All these unique features combined creates a rather formidable opponent specializing for Attrition Based fights. Making Acrocanthosaurus quite a capable hunter towards Large Slower Playables like Apatosaurus, Brontosaurus & Saichania.
Special Abilities
Bleeding Bite The standard attack for Acrocanthosaurus. This attack applies the Bleed Status affect & deals 225 Damage at base. This attack costs 12 Ability Power to use.
Intimidating Roar This is Acrocanthosaurus most famous ability. Intimidating roar applies a damage debuff to a ungrouped target you're looking at closest to you. At base this Debuff is at an effective 25% or 0.75x reduced damage inflicted by the targeted Playable.
Other Facts
- Acrocanthosaurus is pretty maneuverable thanks to its good base turning speed & Model Turn Flexibility. Allowing Acrocanthosaurus the ability to respond quickly towards potential threats on its flank. Or to outmaneuver & apply pressure to the flanks of larger, slower targets.
- Acrocanthosaurus has amongst the highest base healing in the game, allowing you the ability to more quickly recover from Injuries.
- Acrocanthosaurus being on the line between an Apex & a Midtier, makes it a pretty solid Playable for both Solo & group play. Thanks to your ability to comfortably avoid threats you don't want to face whilst having the stat & ability package to hold your own against smaller opponents comfortably.
- Acrocanthosaurus features fast Sit & Sleep animation, allowing you to respond to threats that may be sneaking up to you.
Tips
- The Best Trees are Damage And Speed! Survival is good if your a solo Acrocanthosaurus! You can do a mixture of both! You do you!
- Find a pack! You do more damage a group than a solo! And more agile creatures will have a hard time staying at your tail while also not getting hit by your packmate!
- As an Acrocanthosaurus you need to play safe, go in and out of the fight whenever you get the chance.
- Be careful! Acrocanthosaurus is easily ruined by heavy bruisers such as Saichania and Tyrannosaurus . Thus, take care to only engage when they are under the effects of your Intimidating Roar, reducing the injury damage they deal.

Healing - Increases Acro's already impressive natural Healing. Resilience - Improves your comfort maintenance, which effects your healing rate. Stress Resist - Helps manage higher comfort during lengthy fights, which helps maintains the effectiveness of your healing. Intimidating Roar - Improves the affects of Acrocanthosaurus Intimidating Roar ability. Exhausting Bite - Sapping your opponents Stamina Pool synergizes well with a Hit & Run playstyle of Acrocanthosaurus. Nimble - Improves your already impressive turning
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Acrocanthosaurus has one of the best abilities in the game! Use it to your advanage!
- Deals Bleeding Damage, which makes your enemy not heal for a certain amount of time.
- Decent turn radius for it's size.
Cons:
- Incredibly abusable as a solo Acrocanthosaurus.
- Stamina drains fast if no points are invested in the speed tree.
- Weak in 1v1's against other creatures of your size.
- If no points in Nimble Footed are invested Acrocanthosaurus is very vulnerable to small and agile creatures such as Megalosaurus, who if they manage to get behind, easily stay at it's end and manage to evade any hit's there while slowly killing the Acrocanthosaurus.
Trivia
- Acrocanthosaurus received it's remodel along with Kronosaurus in the "Flippers and Fangs" Patch, which got released at the 4th of september 2021.
- Prior to the game's early access release, there was a very powerful Acrocanthosaurus known as the Demon Acro, which patrolled the temple on several retired maps. It was extremely powerful and guarded the secrets of the temple. It has since been removed from the game.
