Apatosaurus

Overview
The Apatosaurus is a playable herbivorous creature in Beasts of Bermuda, as well as the largest playable creature. Being big, however, requires a big appetite, and so the Apatosaurus must consume at a very frequent rate. Fortunately, it's not a picky eater: Its diet consists of almost any kind of plant, and it can even consume trees as an adult. It also must drink copious amounts of water, and this sometimes causes it to sip entire ponds dry!
Thanks to its immense bulk, the Apatosaurus has superb resistance to harsh weather and boasts the highest amount of HP in the game, as well as being able to attack from any angle with incredible knockback and damage, making it very difficult to for any predator to kill. This discourages many predators from attacking it in the first place, letting the Apatosaurus live a generally peaceful and undisturbed adult life... if it can reach adulthood, that is.
Abilities
Unique Attributes: The Apatosaurus can deal knockback to creatures simply by walking into them. Additionally, it can walk backwards by crouching.
- Neck Swipe
- Default: Z (Ability Key)
- A neck swipe that damages anything in front of it. Costs a moderate amount of ability power.
- Tail Whip
- Default: RMB (Right Mouse Button)
- A fast and powerful tail whip attack, dealing high damage with little ability power cost. Press the attack once to instantly whip in a direction, or hold the attack to coil up the Apatosaurus' tail, which has better accuracy when released. The ability power cost increases over time if the attack is held down.
- Kick
- Default: LMB (Left Mouse Button)
- A quick kick from the front legs, damaging anything hit by it. Costs a moderate amount of ability power.
Survival Tips
- Carefully manage your ability power during fights. Enemies will often attempt to waste away the Apatosaurus' ability power by faking an attack.
- The Apatosaurus' strongest attack is its Tail Whip. It is recommended to face your tail against your opponents to prevent them from reaching the rest of your body.
- Standing in deep water with your body just above the surface is a good defensive position, as it forces opponents to enter the water to attack.
- The Apatosaurus's tail whip attack can be very effective for attacking or defending against any hidden aquatic creatures that may be lurking in a lake. Simply walk backward into a lake and snap your tail to see if you can hit any hidden predators that may be lurking just below.
Additional Notes
- Implementation of the tail-whip mechanic was claimed to be one of the most difficult mechanics to program, second only to Oryctodromeus' burrows.
