The Utahraptor is a very large member of Dromaeosauridae: the family of raptors, and is a playable creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is an exceptionally fast predator, able to easily chase down prey such as the Parasaurolophus. Additionally, it is one of the best creatures to form a pack together with, as a flock of Utahraptors, with some coordination and planning, are able shred down even the most intimidating predators.

The Utahraptor has a pounce that behaves very differently than that of the Velociraptor for its secondary attack.  This pounce is only capable of latching onto the Apatosaurus, but serves a much more significant primary purpose.  The Utahraptor can pounce while moving and does not need to coil to charge up its leap.  It does so instantaneously.  The angle of launch, however, is mostly fixed at 25 degrees, only moving to a modest 32 degrees if the player aims the camera upwards.  The key role of the Utahraptor pounce is combat mobility, allowing it to leap into the fray or away from danger on a moment's notice.  This differs starkly from the Velociraptor's pounce, which is used primarily to leap onto unsuspecting prey.  This pounce consumes moderate amounts of stamina, so spamming it is often a poor idea.  While latched onto an Apatosaurus, the Utahraptor loses the power ability over time.  Given its large ability power pool, it can stay latched to an Apatosaurus for a significant period of time.  It is also capable of latching onto beached Mosasaurs.

Unique Abilities: The Utahraptor retains all the lethality of its smaller relatives in a much bigger package. Fast, agile and huge, a coordinated pack can bring down even the largest of creatures. Their powerful legs and huge, sickle-like claws can be used to cling on to the side of prey and inflict devastating wounds. Utahraptor, however, do not like getting their feathers wet and must take shelter during bad weather.

Overview

The Utahraptor is a very large member of Dromaeosauridae: the family of raptors, and is a playable creature in Beasts of Bermuda. It is an exceptionally fast predator, able to easily chase down prey such as the Parasaurolophus. Additionally, it is one of the best creatures to form a pack together with, as a flock of Utahraptors, with some coordination and planning, are able shred down even the most intimidating predators.

As a drawback, it bears a high metabolism and must eat frequently to thwart off starvation (just as the Velociraptor must), and despite it's impressive size for a Dromaeosaur, it has a rather low amount of health pool and weight since it isn't very large in comparison to many other theropods in the game such as Acrocanthosaurus and Megalosaurus, which makes a lone Utahraptor a vulnerable creature. ____________________________________________________________________

Abilities

Primary Attack: A close ranged slash-and-bite. It deals only a moderate amount of damage, but it can be used in rapid succession, making it a dangerous attack when executed repeatedly. It also only drains the Utahraptor's ability power by a very small amount, allowing it to perform this attack multiple times for a lengthy duration before its ability power runs out.

Secondary Attack: An instantaneous pounce attack. It provides the Utahraptor with spectacular combat mobility, allowing it to leap into the fray or away from danger in a moment's notice. Furthermore, the Utahraptor can pounce while moving. The angle of the jump's direction is at 25 degrees, with the exception of a modest 32 degrees if the player looks directly upwards while doing so. The pounce consumes a hefty amount of stamina, so use it sparingly!

If the ability key is tapped while pouncing, it performs a Latching Pounce attack. The Utahraptor is capable of latching its claws onto these creatures: Apatosaurus and beached Mosasaurs.

As the Utahraptor is latched on, it inflicts constant health damage to its target. The Utahraptor can stop latching by pressing Right Click at anytime. Latching slowly depletes the Utahraptor's ability power, so if Utahraptor stays latched on for the entire duration, it will eventually deplete all its ability power and fall to the ground. (This differs from the pounce of the Velociraptor, who is able to latch onto a much wider array of creatures)

Special Attribute: The Utahraptor boasts a significantly enlarged amount of ability power; having been granted 150 rather than the typical 100, and an moderately enlarged amount of stamina; 120 instead of the standard 100.

Weakness

The Utahraptor is incredibly weak without a pack, and also needs to eat quite frequently.

Larger creatures easily overpower it 1-on-1. In addition, a lone Utahraptor can be ambushed and killed by a large carnivore.

Aquatic predators also prove to be problematic. The Mosasaurus and Elasmosaurus are capable of drowning a Utahraptor by dragging it down into the water, and the Kronosaurus can mutilate pretty much any medium-sized creature with its charge attack. Caution is advised not only in the water, but near the water.

Lastly, the Utahraptor cannot stand the extreme harshness of storms and other disastrous weather events. It must hide under shelter or die from stress.

Additional Notes

The Utahraptor will have Crest/No Crest variants in the future.
